DOXworks skillfully transformed a 1,700-square-foot workers’ cottage in Cambridgeport, expanding it to 2,400 square feet.
The project included a significant basement expansion, incorporating foundation and waterproofing upgrades that created a fully usable floor.
Originally built in the late 1800s, the house had been divided into two 1-bedroom apartments in the 1970s. DOXworks meticulously reconfigured the space, transforming it into a contemporary 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom single-family home.
This redesign seamlessly integrated modern living requirements while preserving the home’s historical character, striking a thoughtful balance between the new and the old. The renovation was executed in three distinct phases, all while the house remained occupied.
